The bible instructs us to train up a child in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6).

However if you're a parent who doesn't know the direction they should be taking how can you raise your children into adulthood? It's one thing not to know how to raise your biological children so how about Christians. If we do not understand the way our Father raises us how can we raise our children in the same manner?

When I first came to faith it followed the usual scenario of walking up to the altar followed by a confession of my sins. Over the weeks and months I was baptized than enrolled onto a course which talked about the fundementals of the faith.

I enjoyed the course and because I was full of zeal and enthusiasm I quickly got involved with various church activities. I continued to faithfully and enthusastically read the bible, attend church and actively participate in various ministries. 

However no one sat me down and talked to me about the journey into maturity that I would need to take.

My life at the time consisted of reading the scriptures, praying and religiously attending and participating in church events and ministries. 

Although I enjoyed fellowshiping and working with the community I felt that this routine didnt address the challenges which I experience watching others struggle with maturing in the faith.

I watched other believers jump, skip and hop from one church to another and one discipleship programme to another having become dissatisfied with the churches they joined.

So does the kingdom provide Christians with a pre-designed route to maturity?

When I first learnt about what I am going to be teaching you in this course it was one of those divine smell the coffee moments. One where I really wished somebody would have taught me this when I first came to faith.

If I had known that there was a prescribed route to maturity it would have made life so much easier. Thankfully with this knowledge, I have not only been able to apply it to myself. I have also taught it to others as well as raise my own son.

This course rewrites the script by providing revelatory and insightful teaching which helps Christians, Elders and kingdom communities develop policies for nurturing and maturing Christians into kingdom citizens.
